Kat Jenkins
I’m Kat Jenkins – a potter, based near Exeter.
I attended evening class pottery at the Farnham art College in 1981 with a Greek teacher, Katrina Evangeligou, who taught at degree level . After some classes I would go home in tears feeling that my skill as a potter would never be good as Katrina would advise throwing many efforts away and trying again! I now pot at my own home studio and with a co-operative in Alphington.

I now enjoy the ability to make a wide variety of everyday objects from cups, plates and bowls (all of which are ovenproof, microwavable and dishwasher safe) to birdbaths and small sculptures.
I take pleasure in knowing how to achieve results but appreciating serendipitous outcomes!
Since joining the West Country Potters Association about 10 years ago I have had access to many terrific ceramicists demonstrating throwing methods and techniques which I have learned from.
I have attended several courses at West Dean College from Cookware and casseroles, Teapot making and making Glazes.
I undertake commissions for bespoke ceramics.
